“Every artist dips his brush in his own soul and paints his own nature into his pictures” -Henry Ward Beecher
Meet Anna Marie Howell – but her family and friends call her Annie. She desribes herself as short, sweet and a little bit sassy. She is an emerging artist living in the charming little city of Greenville, South Carolina with her husband and two girls.
Annie grew up involved in the arts; singing, playing piano, drawing and painting. However, it is only recently that she began to explore and express herself through art and sharing her work with others.
She always says that she's an accidental artist. Never having formal training, she didn’t know she could even paint until after college. She began painting as a hobby while working in corporate marketing for about twelve years and when she had her first daughter in 2017, she left the corporate world to stay home.
he has been so blessed to be at home with both of her daughters while pursuing her accidental artist dream.
Through bold colors and rich texture, Annie's goal is to transport you to a place of peace and wonderment so that together, we can appreciate the beauty of the earth. She creates bold and colorful waterscapes and landscapes.
She uses mostly acrylic paint and often mixes in metal leaf, pencil, and oil pastel details. She is inspired by both God’s handiwork- namely coastal landscapes like marshes, the ocean, sunrises, and sunsets- as well as the abstract shapes of man-made architecture (bridges and buildings).
Every day presents Annie with new color palettes, new visions, and new ideas for her artwork.
