Artist Profile - Jennie Blount
Originally from Texas, Jennie has spent most of her life in South Carolina. She attended Clemson, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics.
She wanted to share her passion with others, so she returned to school to get a Master’s in Arts Teaching from U of SC.
Jennie spent 10 years teaching before becoming a mom and deciding to spend her time with her family. She is now a mother to 2 daughters and is ever so happy in her decision to spend her time with them and pursue her passion.
Jennie's artwork is always a party. She describes her art as happy. Most of her work is abstract and incorporates lots of movement and color. She is heavily inspired by motherhood where nothing is ever expected and filled with new experiences to enjoy. It's busy, it's a mess, and her artwork is the same. A big happy mess is full of joy, color, and unexpected shapes.
