All About Lauren Neville

Lauren grew up in Sumter, South Carolina and now lives in Mount Pleasant, SC with her three daughters and husband. 

Lauren attended The University of South Carolina, but did not study art. She is a self-taught artist who has never studied art, or taken any formal art classes. Through experimenting with different mediums, she was able to find her style - focused on color and "seemingly effortless" blending. When Lauren is in search of new inspiration and/or needs a moment to recharge you can find her at the local garden center or nursery wandering amongst the plants. Although she does not paint any florals, she translates the bright colors and combinations into her abstract work. 

She creates artwork in many styles, but is best known for her heartbeat art. To create these pieces she uses the heartbeat lines of a sonogram and transforms them into beautiful, one of a kind, abstract art pieces. Lauren began creating these pieces after giving birth to her second daughter. She wanted to create something meaningful her daughter could cherish for years to come. Similarly, she is able to transform a voice memo's sound waves into artwork.

It is only fitting that Lauren can often be found with her youngest daughter on her hip or strapped across her body as she paints. She is a full-time artist and full-time mom, so she is often working double time to be the best at both! Although her hands are full Lauren likes to keep her art space clean and organized. Each day she makes sure to put away all of her paints and brushes and set up for the next day.
